How to Track Mutliple Ad Clicks and Assess Optin and Sales Conversions - Part 1
I figured its about time I posted to the blog section within the forum as that is an opportunity to showcase any tutorials which you may have developed. In this post I'm going to cover the exact tactic which I use to assess which ads is responsible for the most conversions such as signups to your email list or purchases.
Whilst I like Google Analytics, for me it just doesn't provide the type of granularity which I require when posting multiple ads. In such cases not only do I want to know which ad is bringing in the most traffic, I also want to know which ad is responsible for the conversion which is typically a signup to my optin list or a purchase.
As such I've put together a step-by-step video below which outlines a means to do this for FREE! No need for expensive tracking services or software as its based on a combination of using YOURLS (an open source link shortner which you can install on your domain) and in part two I'll cover the necessary coding required to track user action such as signing up to a mailing list or clicking on a buy now button.
I plan on writing a detailed guide together with instructions on how to expand the setup to also block crawlers should you wish to use YOURLs as a link cloaker for outbound links. For the details check out my latest article on my private blog covering link tracking.
