I was reading a blog post relate to that importance of title tag in SEO and they can affect to search rankings more. The author who wrote the article suggested that if we include blog name before blog post name. I know here many of you are good knowledgeable with SEO, Google search results, etc. What do you think about this? If we do that, will they appear higher on the search results?

I put the keywords I care about as close to the beginning of the title as possible.

Unless you are an extremely well known brand with a ton of authority, I would not put a business or brand name first. In the case of a well-known and recognizable brand name it might help click-thru rates, and you can sacrifice the ranking power a little bit because you are already a huge player in your niche.

I agree with SEO pub... You should really focus on having the keywords you want to target in your titles. Leave branding for last. And yes title tags are important for SEO. When seach engine bots do their thing, they look for title tags, header tags and other factors to determine the subject of your content. That is just a basic overview... keep learning and making your own experiments and you will improve

All the best

Relevancy is your most important ranking factor by far and page title is a major factor in determining relevancy. Therefore Page Title = Major Google Ranking Factor

It's one of the big factors. If you are targeting a specific keyword (especially long tails) then make your title as relevant as possible for that keyword phrase.

And as SEOPub mentioned, if you are going to put your blog name in the page title at all, your blog name should generally come at the end of the page title, not at the beginning for the reason he mentioned.

Just to chime in here as both of the above answers were great, don't only focus on the keyword being in the title. A lot of the time webmasters will have an extremely "dull" phrase as their title just to include the keyword/phrase.

Keyword in title is important, but if the phrase doesn't initiate a click then you're gonna lose ranking in a circumstance where you're in the third spot and your title sucks, but the 1st, 2nd, and 4th spot the title is more "clickable". Google looks at CTR, so if that 4th spot is receiving more clicks than you are, you will most likely switch positions and unless you are proactive this could spiral a page downwards in ranking.

It happens a lot with ecommerce stores. I have a client who has spa treatment products for a specific distributor. The distributor only does B2B transactions. So only retailers carry the product (you have to own a store and they rarely allow websites to sell their product).

Most of the listings were titles like "Brand Name Spa Treatment | Website Name". Very basic and dull just to include the keyword. I really didn't care about the "spa treatment" KW in the beginning of the campaign as I wanted the KW ranking that was going to produce the most sales immediately. So the Brand name was receiving 320 monthly searches. Our competitors organically looked like:

Brand
Amazon
Amazon
Website with long URL longbrandnamepoolsandspas.com

Then the results below it were terrible.

But the first 4 results just had horrible titles. Brand Name Spa Treatment

Our title read:

20% Off Brand Name w/ Auto-Ship <<<<<< (all re-sellers have this capability)

We out ranked Amazon AND the main company for the keyword. The Brand contacted us to ask us what we did hahahaha. Now obviously we did some basic SEO. And it wasn't anything crazy. Just Web 2.0s, A couple high PR quality PBN and guest posts, and some social. So was it the title being more "clickable" that caused us to move to #1. No tellin' but it definitely was a contributor.

So yes use the keyword in title but do not sacrifice the utilization of "clickable" titles.

The meta description should be utilized just the same. You need copy that will entice a reader to click. (just an FYI)

As long as you're avoiding titles that suck and titles that may cause a user to steer clear of your site (you'd be surprised), while including the keyword, then you're good. Just don't go off making the same mistake as the Brand and Amazon did above. Even when i was in the third position, I'm sure we were soaking up the majority (outside of ads) of the clicks.

The title (h1) is very important actually, as this tells search engines (and visitors alike) exactly what your content is about.

Title tag is important .The title tag should contain important keyword in order to tell the search engine what your website is about. It is very important factor of seo.The title tag is also the main header which the user will see when they find your webiste through a search engine. The most effective title tags will balance using keywords with being linear, concise and attractive to viewers. Title tag can do wonders if you properly place your keywords.

 let me add my own opinion however there are good enough replies above:
The title of a page meant to be accurate, concise and relevant to page's content. Google shows up to 50-60 characters of each title, so try to keep it as short and meaningful as possible. Title appears in search engines and it's one of the great factors of getting clicks. It is also majorly used when sharing a page in social media networks. In few words, keep your title as much relevant and short as you can.
Good luck :)

Title should be attractive and include keyword in your title.
Have you read ericplotz1's post? It's not just compulsory to include a keyword in your title, make it relevant and include correct phrases, the "clickable" ones.

little trick with wordpress.

Did you know the title of a post or page becomes the URL? In some cases it may be great that they are all matchy matchy, but more often than not, some difference is prefered. A little trick is to give the post or page a URL friendly title, and then save. THEN go back in and edit the post page title to a more CTR friendly title.

Title is the most important factor in On-page SEO. Putting your primary keyword at the start and then the blog name at the end make it easy to understand for search engines what the page is about. Make sure each page has a unique title and of-course contain keyword in it.
