301 redirect and server loads?

Hi.
301 redirects do not cause any load. It's the same amount of load from anyone accessing your website.

Technically, yes.
The user still 'hits' your server, and your server has to do work. (Process the request then redirect the user to the other page')

However the load per request is miniscule.

There's load because the server is reached, but there's nothing significant about it. It's mostly just a blip, so you shouldn't worry about it that much
