Backlinks on non-public FaceBook accounts

If a friend shares a link on his FB ''wall'' (or however it is called), does this count as a decent backlink (for SEO)? (if the account is set to ''friends only'')
I've heard from some that these are the best possible backlinks and i've also heard that these don't count at all... So what's the truth?
I guess those links do count, since google can index them, but do they do you any good?

First, even if they are public, they are not the "best possible backlinks", or anything close to it. They are fairly worthless backlinks on a page with no authority.

If Google cannot see them, they don't count for anything though. If the page is private, Google has no idea those links exist.
