Long tail, short tail. Really doesn't matter. What matters is if the queries are relevant to what you are offering. If they are, then you should target them.

Long tail keywords are always meaningful and high performing keywords. It will have low search but the higher conversion ratio. Search engine also prefers it.

Take this example: if you're a company that markets timeless furniture, the possibilities are that your pages are never mosting likely to appear near the top of an organic look for "furniture" due to the fact that there's way too much competition (this is specifically real if you're a smaller company or a startup). But if you concentrate on, say, contemporary art-deco furniture, after that key phrases like "contemporary Art Deco-influenced semi-circle lounge " are mosting likely to accurately locate those customers looking for precisely that item

What is the use of long tail keywords?
Think about how you search for things using a search engine. Let's take automobiles as an example.

Do you just type in automobiles in the search engine to find tires for your car? Or do you type in the type of car and tires to find them?

Do you type in automobiles to find a car battery? Or do you type in the car type, engine size and battery?

People search on long tail keyword phrases. That is why you should be targeting them also.

Hope that all made sense. :)

If the long tail keywords your targeting have a decent amount of searches/month, and low enough competition that you can get ranked for, then they are totally worth going after. I've had some good luck with obscure search phrases, getting ranked for a lot of them and having the traffic add up over time.

Long tail keywords is a lesser-known, yet incredibly powerful technique for building up organic search traffic for your website. Long tail keywords are easier to rank for, bring in more combined traffic, and convert more visitors to customers.

SEOs nowadays started focusing more on the other two keyword qualities described earlier – relevancy and competition. And that is how the long tail SEO has been born. It is very easy to rank well for a multi-word keyword phrase, which is highly specific to your niche, than for a generic 1- or 2-word phrase.

I hope it helped in understanding Long tail keywords.

Long tail keywords reduce the competition level up to a sufficient extent. Therefore, chances of getting higher rankings in SERPs increase tremendously if you use long tail keywords relevant to your site.
The best example of a site using long tail keywords effectively is amazon.com

Long tail keywords are more specific keyword phrases that visitors use them for to the point search. There is not any tool that gives you the exact search volume data. Not even Google keyword planner. So, from my opinion you should use and target long-tail keywords.

Using those keywords in your website content, posts, titles, meta description, website pages, category pages, social media posts, social bookmark text and description will be beneficial to promote your services. Be sure that your target audience is there on those platforms where you are promoting your links.

Long tails keywords are comparatively more relevant. Chances of ir-relevant traffic gets reduced with this. If you are performing well in long tail, then on keywords variations, it will work fine as well. Even after some time, you wlil get to notice results on short phrased key terms as well.
