Hi everyone,
I have set up csf on my VPS hosting, but once set up and configured it starts to send the server load through the roof. I have looked the loads, logged them, monitored them and cannot see what is causing it, yet when I uninstall csf the loads return to normal? Is there a better alternative to csf that others have had experience with that doesn't require perl to start and run? mabybe I will attempt to install csf again on a new VPS and see how it work but not now.
Your recommendations would be much appreciative!

Hey,

you should really consider setting up iptables manually with a help from tutorials. That should be enough and it won't increase your server resource consumption drastically.

You may try denyhosts + ddos deflate + as advised (google firewall rules for webserver - if you use it)
