Affiliate marketing can be considered as the modern version of door-to-door selling, so to speak. It is an effective way of spreading the word and sell units at the same time, with the additional upside of not being as intrusive (if done right, of course). In order to ensure a navigation clear of spammy ads and out-of-place promotion, it's easy to imagine you have to pick products inherent to your website's niche, which also increases the chances of closing a deal.
However, even then, it's not always easy to choose the right producers to affiliate to. This is especially true when starting out, when you'll want to start small and to make it subtle (after all, making money can't be your only objective).

How do you find the right product to promote? Do you just look for companies which sell specific products close to your niche or do you go with bigger companies (e.g. Amazon) which sell products of all kinds, but generate less revenue because of how easily accessible they can be outside of your website?

Affiliate marketing is a tacky and desperate form of marketing to make a buck. Having said that, there are lots of people making a living in doing so. Bombarding peoples emails with junk and fake reviews is intrusive and annoying. It's like all the junk mail we get within our real mail boxes. A great form of doing affiliate marketing (which I do) and can be rewarding, is to create a blog or a product site listing all the top products. Then people can choose if they are wanting to purchase one at their own free will. Also, add an opt-in form on the page so the ones who do want to get bombarded with product related emails can sign up to do so.

So you're creating website entirely dedicated to product selling and advertising? Interesting.
Have you found this technique to be more effective than subtle implementation in only loosely related websites (as in, standard websites with a focus on related topics)? Approximately, how many visitors actually end up buying products compared to total viewers?
Sorry if I'm a little intrusive with my questions, I'm just curious :)

Firstly, you can find the niche that you're really interested in. Finding products that belong to this niche and of course you must really like them. You can ask vendors to give you product instances for using first, then you can easily write your own review content.
Finally, you need to build your review site for promoting these products and start getting commission. Good luck!

Good question :ertery:

If you want to make money then you need a product to sell. If you don't have a product then how do you sell? If don't sell, then no one buys. If no one buys, you make no money.

So, How to find a good product to promote?

Best high converting product in this industry is - Weight loss, Business Opportunity, Gaming, Home and Gardening, Dog training etc.

For Example, if you want to promote Weight loss product, then :

1. Go to clickbank.com and visit affiliate marketplace.

2. Click the Health and Fitness section.

3. Choose a high gravity product (always choose high gravity product, because high gravity products has already high demand and competition in the marketplace).

I usually choose products I know how to use, plus my audience will benefit form it. It is also important that the product could be easily purchased. And last but not list, I look at the affiliate commission.

PenguinManiac,
Also, apart from the approach of chosing the product which is trendy, it is also suggested to chose the offer which is interesting first of all for YOU. Because if you want to make money on it - you should be ready to work hard, to create different creatives, test them, try different traffic sources... so if you work with the product you don`t like and know nothing about - you will hardly earn a buck on such offer.

If you start with a brandable domain you can do what ever you want if you use a generic name you need to keep to the niche of the domain. You need to do more SEO work with brandables where your generic names could make you money just hosting them. You need to find the product to suit the name or just promote what ever products over every site you have if it converts roll with it.

Find a product that is trending or that has been bought by many people and go with a product that has good reviews. To get an idea, search for a product on Amazon.

Hi

You can discover the niche you are really interested in. Finding products that fit in with this niche and of class, you need to like them. You may ask vendors to give for using original, product instances to you, then it is simple to write your own review content.

Have a nice work :D

Here are some tips to help you find your niche in the market.
Target audience: Once you have a better idea of what to sell, you'll then consider who you're selling to, also known as your target audience or target market.,Market trends.

Hello,

Primarily you can discover the niche you are really curious about. Finding products which fit in with the specific niche and of class you need to enjoy them. You may ask vendors to supply you with product examples for using original, then it is simple to write your review content.

Hi Penguin,
Firstly look at your interests and passion, are you into sports? then go for the sports equipment/goods vertical you can even dig deeper and specialise in gold if that is your passion. Are you into technology/internet tech then you can go for hosting, domain, website monitoring services.

Once you know this then the rest is easy, build a comparison/review site join a few affiliate programs to promote related products in your niche. Good thing with digital products is that they pay high commission also offer a recurrent commission and is not something that users can buy in their local store.

We offer an affiliate program selling website monitoring services, get in touch if you want to know more.

Good luck
