Do you add everyone on Facebook?

Facebook has a limit to the amount of friends you can have and that is why many people end up choosing to filter out who are the people that have to be added, while others don't care and add all the people who send invitations (and when the limit is exceeded, they simply create another account).

Which team do you belong to?

I only add people I really want to follow and keep in touch with.

Use pages and groups to add people you plan on marketing to or participating in a hobby with etc.

If you add every marketer that contacts you as a friend, your timeline basically becomes a spam fest and is useless.

I agree with you, and I do the same thing. :)

I see no reason to add all the people who send me invitations (it's kinda annoying, to be honest). It's useless because most of them end up being spam.

It is always better to filter the invitations to not exceed the limit of friends and end up having to create another account.

WildSpirit,

I have reached the maximum amount of friends on facebook at my personal site, and, of course they are not all my "genuine" friends--still, I've been encouraged to create a business, artist, or fan page--I think the idea is that those pages can have an unlimited number of friends, but I am not quite sure--

In your case, Facebook works as a form of marketing for your personal website, so... It's normal for you to actually accept the invitation from all the people who send you.

The more people you add, the more likely people are to get to know your site.

Nice move. I hope it works for you, because not always quantity means quality... Is that correct?

Sincerely I didn't even know that Facebook had a limited amount of friends you could have, but however, I don't add everybody that send me a friend request, I only add people I know from at least a couple of weeks, if a person I knew yesterday send me a friend request I let it pending until I know the person well enough to be added to my friends list, I'm a very private person and don't accept requests from strangers especially after receiving friend requests from 2 creepy guys I never saw before last year, I changed all my settings on Facebook to make sure strangers won't be able to send me friend requests anymore.

Nope, I only add people that i know. Nowadays its dangerous to share your photos and your information publicly. Some will take advantage of it and will use it for scams. We have to protect our privacy and personal information by not sharing to anyone our profile.

On my first time using Facebook the first thing I did is add all the people on the add friends list, and when I always remember that it just makes me laugh but now i only add people who are mutual and who I know. Also, I always add pretty girls to make things exciting on Facebook.

I am a bit choosy and picky when it comes to adding friends if we have just meet by acquaintance most likely I wouldn't be inviting or accepting you as my friend on Facebook acoount. I want to have a circle of friends that are really close to me and has broad span of contribution to my well being. But in any instance you want to have more likes and comments on your shares and photos go grab the opportunity to accept anyone that comes along. That way you get to be satisfied once they like a photo of you in the future.

I'm quite careful of the people I add on Facebook, not because of the friends limit issue but as a result of fear of having my account being hacked or someone spying my activities on Facebook without my knowledge. I do also consider if adding such person will result in a fruitful conversation in the future so as not to add users that will end up not contributing anything to my online presence in the way of making useful posts, liking the posts that I have made, commenting on the posts that I have made as well as replying private messages that I would send to them, if I deem it fit having a personal conversation with them.

So, I don't just go about sending/adding Facebook users on my Facebook account without putting all these factors into consideration.

I only add and accept people I personally know. I like my Facebook account and posts to be private. Adding everyone on Facebook is like letting random people know your whereabouts and personal information. If the idea of promoting your business/online shop/merchandise on Facebook, I would create another account solely for that. Use a fan page account or create a group page, that way I can promote my business to the public without sacrificing my private space.

I could never accept everyone that requests. Some people do. I guess it's a self reassuring popularity thing. Back when I still had Facebook, I had 192 friends at last count. Made up of family, close friends, work colleagues and my friends from University. A lot of them I don't see very regularly but I was good friends with them at one time or another, I want to keep in touch with them. We comment on each others stuff. I did have a clear out last year and got rid of probably 100 people who I literally knew but nothing else. People who lived near me or people who went to the same school or worked at the same place. Not people I ever really called a friend as such so they went. Funnily enough one or two of them repeatedly sent friend request. I don't understand why you would repeatedly send friend requests to someone you were never really friends with and obviously has refused previous request. Just saying. :)

No I don't add everyone. I get the occasional spam friend request involving porn or some smutty person. I also get some from family members and I don't add them at all. After all, we can talk on the phone because we're related. So why talk on Facebook? I know of a lot of people though who have surpassed their friends limit, so they open up a second page and I guess that's the way it goes. Pretty soon you'll have like 5 pages dedicated to you or your business because you've surpassed the friends limit on all of them. Facebook really needs to change this rule.

I only add people who I know. It is for your account, as well as your own safety to choose people whom you would like to be on your facebook friends list. There are a number of cases of bullying posted online and one good way of preventing it is by choosing the people who you want to get in touch with. If you want a bigger market for business purposes, you may join facebook pages or create your own page to advertise your products. We must always be wary of our safety even through social media.

No I don't add everyone on Facebook, I choose those people whom I'm close to or those whom I can talk to. There's a lot of people who loves to post silly things and sometimes provocative posts which sometimes annoys me and I do occasionally unfollow them because I don't want my kids to see it on Facebook. You have a lot of important information that you posted on Facebook, so you should be careful in adding people. People do have a tendency to stalk other people on Facebook.

It is not safe to add everyone in facebook. You need to be selective because with the high criminal rates going on because of social media engagement we need to be more careful. If its possible only add people you alreadly encountered in person. For new faces make sure to check their accounts carefully like if how long they had been on facebook or if all of their posts are decent or in short their account's reputation. Its be better be safe than sorry at the end.

Nowadays, it is hard to just accept friends in facebook, because some of them just want to access your information to use to scam other people. Some of them are hackers to, one day you will know, you can't access your facebook anymore. Some of them are stalkers too. I make my facebook as private as possible. Add friends whom i know. But sometimes, i cant help to add people whom i do not know just for a game.

It always helps to check out the friend request before you add them. See how many mutual friends they have. Look at their timeline. If they just started posting last week, might be a bit suspicious. Also if their timeline is full of smut, porn, weird half-sentences or just LOL's? Very suspicious. Their avatar is a dead giveaway most of the time also. Some of these people just make it too easy. I think most of the folks who're scammed are Facebook newbies. They're excited that 'someone' wants to be their friend. So excited that they overlook safety and common sense.

I don't add anyone I don't know.

I only add people that I really know and trust. Adding someone randomly would be a nuisance because it could affect your privacy.

So be careful when your adding someone. Just make sure you really know that guy.

Actually for me its not safe to add someone that you don't know, you are putting your lives into danger.
We must be aware on who are we adding even in posting picture, lot of people can see your post and you will never know what will happen next.

Living in a safe, peace and private life is our choice so we better think that there is always a danger in our surroundings.
