I read that having social media buttons on a webpage is good and is a added advantage for increasing activity on it. Social media buttons like the Tweet Button, Follow Button, FaceBook Like Button, etc could also help in boosting traffic to a website.

Can anyone kindly explain how I can embed different social media buttons on my website?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your quick response.

I'm currently using WordPress. I plan to create a proper website soon though.

Since you are using WordPress, you can use plugins like Social warfare for add social sharing buttons to your blog posts, home page and pages as well. I personally using this plugin for my blog and I really like it. Just give it a try :)

Go over to the Wordpress site and click on plugins. Search on "social"... Lot's of plugins are available that will add the buttons where you want them.

Thanks a lot. I really need to get a hang of how things work on WordPress. I believe in a matter of time, I'd more knowledgeable on things like this.

As some people mentioned in this thread, you have 4 ways to add social networks button to your website
- Using a plugin (if you use Wordpress)
- Using sharing codes from social networks which they are providing you.
Twitter: https://dev.twitter.com/web/tweet-button
Google: https://developers.google.com/+/web/share/
Linkedin: https://developer.linkedin.com/plugins/share#
Facbeook: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/share-button
- Using a script to install on your website like addthis or sharethis
- Using Javascript and creating your own social share buttons, it can need to use their API to count number of shares and sharing URLs to social networks.

For me, I like to use social buttons which are provided by social networks.
It is easy and convenient to integrate to any place on my site if needed.

Wow! This is really helpful. I guess I'd rather use the codes provided by individual social networks. I believe applying them will be straight forward and easy.

I would also check to see if I could incorporated them into web apps. The internet has got it covered really.
