Question Is an SEO specialist necessary?

Hey guys, is it necessary to consult an SEO specialist when designing a new website for the first time? I am talking about a freshly made site which has a section for product details and a marketplace. Would it be good if I just ignore the SEO altogether?

That depends. You can ignore the SEO if you are not worried about search engine traffic. If you are concerned with search traffic, you probably don't want to ignore SEO.

If it's for a website with a product section and a market place, I would recommend getting an SEO specialist during development. I think it will make things a lot easier for both the SEO specialist and the developer rather than trying to change things after the development is completed.

SEO is a long term plan. If you simply need it for a marketing funnel from PPC then SEO isn't needed as much.

At first, just make sure you have good written content, and good meta titles and meta descriptions.

After a few months, and some organic traffic, you can start focusing more on SEO and analysing what needs more attention.

I wouldn't say ignore SEO altogether. I would probably just hire one to get the site architecture done as that would be the most important thing. But entirely depends on if the search engine traffic brings in a good portion or revenue whatever your goals are for the site.

Yes, it is really recommended, simply because it is much easier to build SEO-friendly site rather than changing it for SEO later. Overall it is needed if you are planning to get traffic from search engines, if you are planning to use adwords etc it's not so necessary.

I am a newbie to this but as much as I understand the ways about earning through websites, SEO is important to make you more popular, and it is more necessary to new websites. Generating more traffic means it'd be easier to generate advertisements, which means more profit, right? Obviously, hiring someone who really knows what he's doing and an expert at this is the best way to go.

No not really needed. It starts with good quality content and good keywords so you can rank in the search engine. You have to be patient though as it will take sometime for your site to see rankings and traffic (3-6 months) this is if you are starting your website from scratch. You have to be consistent with content.

When you are planning to create a website for your online business, it is necessary to consult and/or hire a SEO expert first especially if you have the budget and do not understand the rudiments of SEM.

The importance of SEO cannot be ignored since the basic reason for creating a website is to have online presence, attract visitors, and grow your business. A website is nothing if it cannot serve its purpose of generating traffic and business for the company.

The SEO specialist will make sure your website will be visible enough to rank well on search engine results. They have the experience and skills to assist you in using the latest trends, technologies, contents, composition of your website, links, etc. that is aligned with SEO and to optimize your visibility in attracting the desired traffic. This expertise will properly guide the web designer in creating a winning website.

Consulting the SEO expert is not bad especially if you wish to start right, to save time and effort, and to give your business the added boost. It avoids the risk of going through a “ trial and error” because of lack of knowledge or experience on SEO. You gain by learning from this experience or collaboration which will provide you the confidence to deal with future changes in your website.

There is absolutely no need for a SEO specialist regarding design. You might need one for Text and Keywords, but even then you might be able to do it yourself with a little effort.
The design has nothing to do with SEO. It might be important for customer retention but not for SEO.
The text and keywords you use on your website are the most important part on-site SEO wise.

To be honest, a SEO professional is probably too expensive to use for 99% of the websites out there.

Consulting SEO Specialist is really helpful when you're building a new website. They can not only recommend SEO-friendly site architecture and website layout but also tell you the off-site activities (guest posting, forum posting, etc) that you need to do to make your site rank better.

It depends on how much work you're willing to put in. For people who are willing to do much of the work DIY style, there are numerous and virtually an endless supply of videos on YouTube to turn any newbie into a professional. For those who are wanting success without putting in the leg-work, an SEO specialist is necessary.

Again, it all depends on you as the blog owner.

    Scott.

    Are you sure about this?
If you have a better design with better On page SEO factors on it then obviously it will help to rank better than pages with more complicated designs with not standards for SEO on-page.

You shouldn't ignore SEO, because SEO can get 80% traffic to your site. And you don't really need to consult a SEO expert becasue you can learn SEO yourself. When you SEO for your own website, you will get more experience and really helps your site ranking on SERPs
