Does anchor text on your own site count like anchor text from a backlink from a different site? Does anyone use any special interlinking methods? Thanks

I always use keyword rich anchor text. Exact match and/or partial match. Using anything else, especially on your own site, is just kind of dumb.

yes! I built some webs to backlink aids to the parent web.This method is called satellite method.
Unrelated keyword methods
primary keyword
sub keyword
You need to have a backlink plan.
I use campaign 6-2-2

Anchor text from home page in the main website in usual but now most of the high ranking sites are not using it anymore due to keyword permutations.
