Is there any bad impact on my site from "Expired" or "Broken" Inbound links?

I just have a note that I have many back-links, unfortunately, a big ratio of them are now "expired", "webpage not available" or broken.

So is there any cause to fear about them? I barely want to avoid them because I guess they all already rejected so no need to disavow them again.
What is your thought, please? I'm continuing on good thinking?

Broken external - outgoing links can be considered as quality signal to your users but to search engines as well. If you have many broken links across website, that will lead to conclusion that the website is not updated for quite some time.

End result can lead to rank dropping and in some cases penalization (if we are talking about excessive external linking).

There used to be but I don't think since Google values individual pages that it's an SEO problem. People talk about PR Page Rank, Google doesn't even use that anymore. If you had lots of broken links on and off site your enture site Page Rank would drop. I know, I say "page" and it doesn't make sense but your entire site was one big rank. That's why people tried to make big sites because a website with 20,000 pages also had 20,000 links. That's how I got my first site to PR6 when PR6 meant you could sell links like $50 per month on the actual page that was PR6.

If all of your pages NOW are 404 broken and you have 1 page still up....that 1 page will still rank.

Hi

In the event the inbound links have been broken or expired, then wouldn't be a backlink to a website (Moz's indicator could you need to be outdated for that backlinks). Then no have to be worried about it, if this is your case.

Broken links will affect your website rank when the link is the do-follow link. The Links are External Links & Internal Links.

In the case of internal links you can fix it don't worry about it, it never affects your rank. But in case of External Links, it will affect on ranking, PA.

It will increase 404 Error which is definitely bad for your website. For solution find broken links for you site and redirect all to relevant posts and deindex old urls from google.

Pretty much everything you said was wrong. Google absolutely still uses PageRank. They never stopped. And of course PageRank would drop if you had broken links. PageRank was 100% based on links. So if the links are screwed up, no PR is passing through them.

You don't need to disavow them. That would be utterly pointless.

I'm not sure who is telling you that you have a bunch of "expired" links, but it really doesn't matter. If the sites are expired or the pages are broken, that means the links don't exist. So you really don't "have" those links. Total waste of time to disavow something that doesn't exist.

I have to agree with SEOPub. Don't waste your time disavowing links which will naturally disappear over time. Instead, focus your energy on creating new, higher quality links to preserve the rank of your website when the outdated links eventually disappear from your backlink portfolio.

Yes, definitely you will have a great impact in terms of traffic and ranking. You will start seeing a decline in the organic as well as direct traffic, as a result, you will see a decline in rankings too.

Broken backlinks and nonexistent websites should not harm your website.
But that is always something to consider and checked regularly.
If you dont want to hire specialists to analyze your links, there are some great tools that you can use, such as:

Monitor Backlinks,
SEO Spyglass and
CognitiveSEO Backlink Analysis.

Broken links are bad for user experience and negatively impact on your website SEO. Using Broken link checker plugin, you can easily find and fix them. Why don't you fix them?
