Fixing URL categories

Is there a way to 301 categories instead of every article itself? Example...

I have lots of links to my category /denver/the-rest-of-the-article-here.html but now hundreds of articles are broken links because the category is /partners/the-rest-of-the-article-here.html Hundreds maybe even 1000+ pages. Is there a way to 301 the category /denver/ to /partners/ so that only this one redirect fixes those thousands of articles?

Just change the folder name in ftp.
