It seems as if the era of cold-calling has passed... or am I just doing it wrong?

I've called plenty of businesses over the past week and I'm either just ringing through, or people aren't interested at all.

I understand it's a numbers game.. but is it still viable? Is anyone else having success with cold calls?

Cold calling works a lot better when you physically go to the business and talk in person. Especially with mom and pop businesses. Go in, shop, buy stuff, get to know the owners. Then start talking business using a SOFT sell.

That type of cold calling works great!

Telephone or email cold calling, not so much anymore. To easy to ignore, not answer or just hang up.

Cold calling activity is getting staler day by day.

Try to meet the owner or representative in person, it creates good relations and physical appearance do matter.

No one has the time to attend calls. The best way to make a sale is by getting people interested in your product!

It's like a hit and trial. You've got to be lucky to convert a lead from such a method

Hi

Cold calling is still alive in 2020

The experts make it clear that cold calling is not disappearing as a strategy anytime soon. ... Cold calling is still an incredibly effective way to connect with prospects if you stay informed on who your buyers are, how they buy, and how you can solve their problems

Cold calling nowadays does a negative effect on consumers. Sometimes consumers get offended and start abusing. Due to changes in technology, most people show interest in shopping websites, they don’t go for stranger products or his offer.

They just hang up the call, cold calling has become less desirable.
It’s replaced by email, text, and social media marketing. Cold calling not much effective now.

Yes, cold-calling can still be effective, but its effectiveness may vary depending on the industry, target audience, and approach.

While some businesses find success with cold-calling, others prefer to focus on digital marketing methods like email marketing or social media outreach.

It's essential to test different strategies and evaluate the results to determine what works best for your specific business and goals.

Target your prospects carefully using in-depth market research and insights to identify those most likely to be interested in your offering. Mass blasting random numbers sees very poor conversion.

Hi.

It can be very effective. You would however need a script. You can get a copywriter (e.g. from Fiverr) to write one for you if you're not confident about this but you would need to give them a great outline of your product or service.

Some people also hire 'setters' and 'closers' for a commission on the sale. For example, a 'setter' would convince a lead (you generate) to have a 'discovery call' with you (or a 'closer') in exchange for a commission (i.e. anything up to 5% of overall price of product or service being sold). A discovery call, by the way, is just a sales call that where you would discover if the potential client/customer (lead) is a good fit for your product or service (hint: they are!). If not closing the sale yourself, your 'setter' would book in the 'discovery call' with your 'closer' (i.e. that person who closes the deal for you, usually for a commission of anything up to 10% typically).

There are whole facebook groups dedicated to setters and closers, so you should have no problem finding some. But finding quality ones is harder!

I personally hate it when someone calls me and ask me if I want to buy something. It's a game of probabilities, and with Cold-Calling the probabilities are slim.
