all matter is traffic to your site. Useless you use premium template with optimize for Adsense or you using high Keyword CPC. More visitor that mean more change to click your ads.

Well google adsense is the revenue sharing program by Google. There are some of the basic tips for all to enter in this program.
1.You must have top level domain with great website
2.Post as much as possible(Must be unique article)
3.Submit your site to search engine,webmaster and blog directory.
4.Wait for 500+ unique visitor..
5.Apply for adsense at Google official adsense site.
6.Wait for google approval (Approve or Reject)
7.If approve then place ad code into your website.
8.Done

I think on Point number 1. Even you not using TOP LEVEL DOMAIN , you still can make money from Google Adsense.
