Hi,
Why do so many people say that SEO is dead?
I should believe in that or what is your opinion?
If it's right, I should focus on different ways to get traffic for my website?

Yes, it's dead. For people who uses old, out-dated methods of link building.

Only a few methods are good. For example, Private Blogs Network still works but it's not for the everyone.

So SEO is dead because some people use old, out-dated methods for link building? That's a strange logic... and i sure hope you're not a SEO specialist... else i would feel sorry for your customers:smart:

SEO isn't dead it's just changing and changing to other quality factors... That's just a reason why you should never sit still when your doing SEO.

That's a lie, I've been hearing that since I started internet marketing in 2009. People were saying SEO is dead even back then. It's dead for those who don't know how to do it.

My number 1 traffic source is SEO then social media. I don't use private blog networks or create any backlinks, I only use social media to boost my rankings. So I would advise you to focus on social media marketing and in a few months you'll start to see search engine traffic coming to your site.

The problem is that it takes a while so people give up and say it's dead. Google gets 3.5 billion searches per day, so SEO will never die, maybe they're trying to say it's harder than it was before.

But it's always good to diversify and use different traffic sources like forums, ppc, email marketing etc. don't rely on one traffic source.

SEO is as strong as ever and as long as search engines are around then so will SEO... Think about it... SEO is the study of how to rank websites on the SERPs.... So as the ranking algo's change so does SEO evolve...

In my opinion the methods to rank now have never been as easier!!! You no longer have to create thousands of backlinks etc... Its more quality vs. quantity... In addition on page SEO is hugely important with G's hummingbird... Think of semantically related keywords, content with silo's and that will help dramatically.... The key today is to understand and know which past methods do not work and further which ones can actually harm your site... One other key difference is that quality matters! That is quality content as your CTR/bounce rates is absolutely critical...

Its a good thing as nobody wants to see crappy, thin content, spam sites ranking on the serps... Its about relevancy... Saying that Blackhat is as strong as ever too... Its much harder to do that these days... from stable ranking manipulation to the extremities of churn and burn which also is profitable.... However that's another story ;-)

I do not agree with that statement, SEO is getting more popularity, categorized into wide variety of divisions like social media, online marketing, internet business strategy, statistics, surveys etc., It is having high priority Online shopping sites, classifieds, web portals, information based sites etc.,

We have to understand latest trends in search world and adapt them. Then you can see success.

SEO as technique isnt dead, simply it still lives through other ways of promotion and advertising in marketing category. The truth is that some rules of SEO has changed.
To confirm this claim we need to examine habits of ordinary users and IT communities. Simply, it isnt possible to change habits of millions of internet users. This is exactly why it is needed to coordinate all search engine changes to them, because of this there will always be a chance for organic SEO.

SEO is going to be there until search engine exists. SEO never die but it change the phase time to time.

Search engine providers change their algorithm to provide the best results to their users, so SEO need a change to tackle those algo changes.

That's all.

OK enough with saying the same thing, all those new members who're just in a hurry to reach 20 posts so that you can add your signature, we see you.

Next person to say what has already been said on this post will be banned. Just kidding :DD:

But please offer some value and avoid saying the same thing that was already mentioned.

Ok! Here is some new input::violent::

SEO is still working and i've seen some differences in gaining a lot of traffic with it!

My opinion:
Standard SEO should always be implemented, but if you really want to be found on a lot of strings, because of the hummingbird updates, we see that our 'Big' articles with excellent on-page SEO are doing very well lately..

Listen to the community, what articles aren't around or not a lot.. it's all about supply and demand. Lately we get like 70 a 100 visitors daily on articles with 3k words and excellent on-page SEO for different keywords... without any link building. It takes more time... but the rewards are a lot better :)

SEO will die, when we have completely stopped using search engines.

SEO may no longer be same as old times, when it was a matter of stuffing web content/metatags with top keywords... But it will remain and is not going to get easier.... SEO would be more complicated as Google continues to refine its search parameters .

It's going to get harder...Mainly because Google is always a step ahead of the marketers trying to trick them...

SEO isn't dead Google is just getting more and more intelligent.

Google is operating on a computational level. SO studying Computational Semiotics is in your best interest. Here's a link [URLnf="http://www.dca.fee.unicamp.br/~gudwin/compsemio/"]http://www.dca.fee.unicamp.br/~gudwin/compsemio/

also,

Stochastic Grammar
Latent Semantic Analysis
Computational Linguistics

Do your self the favor and become a genius. Read as much as you can, and understand SEO and google spiders operate more and more as an Artificial Intelligence.

SEO is as much alive as before only thing that is changed is Google only prefer quality content which has value so that if someone searches for something they get the best answer possible.

It is dead only for those little sites which less quality. Google now prefers those site which has more Social sharing valu from the platforms like Google+, Facebook, Twitter etc.
