What is sales funnel in internet marketing?

I'm new to internet marketing, I just want to know sales funnel while browsing some pages from others members and how does sales funnel works?
It's possible for setting up on my blog/site?

Also called the sales process, a sales funnel is close to UX {user experience}. It refers to the experience you engineer for your audience as well as the line up of products and offers that you will make to them over the course of your relationship.

Creating a sales funnel is a VITAL component to have done BEFORE driving traffic to your blog, landing page, sales page, etc. Failure to do so will result in lost time, money, and visitors.

Here's a crude example of a sales funnel:

Traffic{solo ad}--->squeeze page--->one time offer {$7}--->confirmation/welcome email--->free prize--->email series--->affiliate offer--->email series--->affiliate offer--->email series--->content--->email series--->high ticket item.

See how that works? You engineer the user experience and decide on the content and offers you will show your audience {buyer persona/customer avatar} before you ever go to work on your project...and certainly before you drive traffic.

I sells funnel is simply a redirect to another product offer after you have already sold somebody something. You can use a blog to do this is you separate different pages for different product promotions.

Yes, as Antoseeg said, it can also be the sale of some "advanced" versions of your product.
For example you sell a report for $7, after your customer purchased it, he is sent not to the download page but to an "upgraded" version of the report. The report could be 12 pages, the ebook will be 50 pages ($27) and therefore cover the subject in more details. If the client buy this ebook, it is still possible to send him to a video training for example you could sell for $97. Why not go one step further and offer a coaching program for $127 per month. These are just some examples but some Internet marketers really do that.
