Hello,

How did you learn SEO and applying it for your websites/blogs?
I'm searching some SEO ebooks on Amazon and found some, I'm considering to buy one of them, according to your opinion, I should learn from ebooks or different sources?

where to start learning SEO? any suggestions?

Thanks
Rodney

I don't think buying an SEO book will be effective ... as now a days, we are getting google alogritham change on weekly basis... better to search on the SEO forums and blogs for latest updates and learn from them .... If book is like one year old than surely you will not be able to learn changes during this period .... Personal experience is worth more than a book in this field ...

I disagree. There are some books out there that will give you a good grasp of the basics.

Sure, Google and other search engines tweak their algorithms almost daily, but most of the changes are just to fine tune what they are after or to shutdown obvious exploits.

Most SEO books, unfortunately, are crappy eBooks published on Amazon by morons that have no business trying to teach anyone SEO.

The one I would recommend taking a look at is Search Engine Optimization Secrets by Danny Dover. It is a few years old now, but honestly, if you read it, you will have a better understanding of SEO than 95% of the people who claim to be SEOs.

After that, I would find a few good SEOs and/or blogs and follow them. Pay them if you have to in order to pick their brains.

I would also recommend that you read books. I actually love finding SEOs that offer free ebooks for download. I find that they are easy and quick to read. The advantage of many such ebooks or pdf downloads is that you get a lot of different perspectives.

Once you start reading the advice of many you can start to compare and find the similar path. Take notes and compare notes often.

I take back my words .... Actually I learned from a different way than reading books ...... so i was of the view that reading books can't be so much favorable for SEO ......
