I make sure to be online a few hours each day if I can be. I have a schedule that I follow so I make the most of my time. And I do not allow anyone to interrupt me at this time.

I'm a list person and like to make a list at the end of the day of what I want to accomplish the next day. Don't always complete the list but I find I get more done this way. That way when I walk into my home office each day I don't have to think where to start (still sleepy usually, lol)

I usually start every morning with checking out social media. Forums like these, other communities, Facebook and Twitter, and so on. I then get updated on anything new that happened over night in the tech-world in general, and finally (this is about when I've had my coffee) I start dealing with the heap of e-mails that have came through during the night.

That's the only firm routine I have, other than that, what needs to be done can vary greatly from one day to another.

I am working for an eCommerce firm and I know the daily updates will help the visitors to stay on any of the website for long time. Even by sharing some important info's of any business in their social media sites can help the business owners to get huge traffic towards a website instantly.

I check my social media making sure that I ma up to date with everything. I also check my emails to see if I have been contacted overnight and I can reply quickly and efficiently. I then check my forums to make sure I know what has been updated on them and then I can reply to the comments that have been left.

1. Check that your outsourcers have done their jobs and have dealt with any problems.

2. Do something to gain new customers. That could be creating a new product, testing and tweaking a new sales letter or squeeze page or trying a new source of traffic or sending a couple of emails.

The most important thing to recognise is that the more hands off you can be, the more efficiently your business will run. Read Tim Ferris's book The Four Hour Work Week. He discovered that he was the bottleneck in his business. Once he outsourced and delegated, his business grew ten fold. You'll find his blog here.

Although you might not want to take it to his extremes, he only checks his email once a week, the principles he outlines will give you food for thought.

You do need to realise that to run a successful business you need a team, it's not possible to do it all on your own unless you want to work 18 hours a day, and that is not what most people are after.
