I have a small site built on a PHP framework that it is allowing words in uppercase on its urls. I should change

Code:
http://example.com/Hello-Friends
To

Code:
http://example.com/hello-friends
Should I go out of my way to force the framework to change everything to lower case? if I allow both uppercase and lowercase in my url, does that affect SEO. Everybody tell me which is right way?

The Upper case URL does not effect the SEO but i recommend that you use lower case in URL because it is User-friendly and SE friendly, and may be possible that you will have duplicate content issue if the search engine see variations of upper and lower case among the URLs.

And according to the W3's "HTML and URLs":
"There may be URLs, or parts of URLs, where case doesn't matter, but identifying these may not be easy. Users should always consider that URLs are case-sensitive."

Use any of these versions. Both are not case sensitive and has no bad SEO effect.

It really doesn't matter when it comes to SEO. All you need is for your url's to look clean and uppercase url's turn to look very aggressive and less user-friendly.

It's better to user lower case URLs.
I agree with you, we should use lower case on all URLs on a website, it is better than using both lower and upper case URLs on a website.

As my experience, Google will index lower case and upper case URL as separated URLs and if Pagerank exists then it can have 2 different PRs.

After reviewing top rank SERP on Google, some are using lower case url, and some others are using upper case. I think this is not really a matter on SEO. But, it's better to make it lower case because a more user-friendly.
