It can be both. Because there's a lot of stuffs to learn online. You will earn a living while doing what you like most. Yes you're right! Earning while using internet. Working online is already a legit job nowadays. Just for example is the Youtubers. They are earning while they are doing their hobbies.

It can be both, In the beggining it can be a hobby, on the process you can be more passionate and good at it then after that you can make out of it a career you love. It will surely be successful and in same time you love what you want.

For me, it is my hobby because I enjoy doing internet marketing in my free time and I learn a lot from it.
You can do many things in the internet but most of it cannot bring you extra income unlike internet marketing you enjoy at the same time you earn.

It started as a hobby for me also but time goes by I have learned that I can make it as a career. In my Opinion at First Internet Marketing would be anyone's Sideline or we could say Hobby, as the time goes by the Fact the you earn money better than before, the word Hobby change until you get to the point that you earn a lot on Internet Marketing. Making it as a Full Time Job.

For me internet marketing is a career because at first you put effort to it, time and knowledge so that you can earn income. Anything that you earn income and urging you to push through is a career. But when it last and you are starting to enjoy it, it becomes a hobby and a career. Online marketing is enjoyable if your heart is in it. If you'd just like to spend an hour or two, every other day then it's a hobby, but if you are dedicate enough and work hard on it everyday then it can easily become a career.

It depends actually. You could do it as a hobby/part-time job if you're still learning how to be an efficient/effective marketer online. The internet is place that would give you lots of sources for extra income. Once you get comfortable with making money online, you could decide to make it full-time. I know a lot of people that earn big through online jobs. Most of them engage affilliate programs and trading/mining cryptocurrency. The best part of having a full-time time job is that you have the freedom of time.
