Google authorship is the trust that you website has in Google. It depends on various On Page and Off Page factors of your website.

To take benefit of Google Authorship simply add your Google Plus profile url along with "rel= Author" tag below your articles and add the website in your contribution section of Google+ Profile

Its not so difficult to use Google authorship, you just need to use rel tag during your G+ profile and then need to insert your selected website to contribute section in Google plus profile.
