Have you needed to use their support? Hostgator is now owned by EIG (Endurance International Group). EIG has a long and well known history of buying hosting companies and putting all their money into advertising, and very little into network/server stability and support!

I obviously use my own services as well. Though I've been with a lot of providers over the years.
Are there any specific questions you have that we might be able to answer (@OP), or are you just curious?

I have no idea if they have ads. I always use ad-blocker.
What will happen if I don't use ad-blocker, it makes annoyed if I visit your site.

Just curious but most people ignored one thing in my question, they are features of web hosting that they are using as loading speed, bandwidth or supports..etc.

I dont think anyone pursposly ignored your question, its just an awefully board questions. I could spend hours discussing page speed, server bandwidth, hosting support or features.

If you have a specific question, let us know and we'd be glad to help.

If you'd like a discussion an a specific item mentioned above, it would be better to have a separate thread. That makes it easier for others to notice a discussion about (insert feature/topic) and join in the conversation.

Only two people answered with actual alternate hosts. For us providers to list our features would basically be advertising, which is why I chose not to do so.

Jeez, I couldn't imagine using any other hosting provider other than Elixant Technology ;) However, over the years I have made my way around the block so to say when it comes to Hosting Providers, so if anyone has questions don't hesitate to ask.

I use HostGator and GoDaddy as the providers for my sites. I also am using 000webhost, which is a free service, for my Data Driven Website Class.

I must say, i cringe when I hear someone uses GoDaddy or HostGator (or any of the other EIG brands).

It's not because they are using them instead if my hosting. If you were using MightyWeb or HostLumina, or any of the thousands of quality hosting providers, I would have nothing bad to say.

If you do some looking online, you will see that GoDaddy, HostGator, Arvixe, BlueHost, and a lot of the other well know hosts put all of their money into advertising, and cut corners with their servers and support!

There servers work. You can host your site with them and it will be online. The difference comes when things go wrong. You will often find sub-par support with long delays between responses.

Most of these providers also oversell their servers, meaning they pack as many accounts on the server as they can. if you launch a marketing campaign or something else that causes your site to get a large spoke in traffic, you may find your site goes offline because the server can't properly handle the load.

I always discourage people who ask about GoDaddy, or any EIG-branded company as well. As RDO mentioned - I'd have absolutely nothing against them using a quality provider, whether that's us or anyone else - but for their own sake, when they ask, I discourage it. I have nothing against recommending other companies (and have done so many times).

The thing is though - most people using these services aren't well versed in the web hosting market. They're webmasters - and the first thing they'll search for is "best webhost 2015". Well, guess who affords dishing out money for those articles? Sure as hell ain't us, heh!

I'm currently using over 20 different web hosting companies and have been with many more through the years. Web hosts that have been purchased by EIG are not recommended. There are so many better companies that actually provide reliable hosting services out there.

I use asphostportal to host my asp.net site. I've been with them for almost 3 years. For me, they are good enough and their answer issue very fast. This is what I like
