Is Link from DMOZ effective for SEO?

I feel that some websites listed from Dmoz higher rankings on Search Engines, Is it real ?
According to you, nowadays, Dmoz links is effect for SEO and helping websites get higher rankings than websites without Dmoz link ?

Any thoughts ?

I think that approved link on Dmoz is very effective for SEO and site will get higher ranking than sites without links on Dmoz. I don't know why some sites are low pagerank and traffic but still get approval on dmoz, may be Dmoz editors got wrong when review websites
Anyone has other ideas?
