I don’t think SEO is dying —I think the easy version of SEO is.

What’s disappearing are the shortcuts: thin content, mass backlinks, keyword stuffing, and generic AI articles. That phase is clearly over. But the core idea of SEO — helping people find the best answer to their problem is still very much alive.yes, it feels harder now. Google updates are stricter, AI is changing how results are displayed, and competition is smarter. But in many ways, it’s just more strategic. You need stronger topical authority, better content depth, technical optimization, and real brand trust. From what I’m seeing, SEO still has strong long-term value especially for businesses that treat it as a growth system rather than a quick traffic hack. Organic visibility still drives high-intent users. That hasn’t changed.
So no, SEO isn’t dying. It’s maturing.

Lately, I’ve been hearing a lot of people say “SEO is dying,” and honestly, it made me stop and think about what’s really happening. With AI tools, Google updates, and the way users search changing so fast, it’s easy to feel like everything we know about SEO is shifting.

But from what I’m seeing in my own work, SEO isn’t dying at all; it’s just evolving. The old shortcuts don’t work anymore, and Google is clearly pushing everyone toward more helpful, trustworthy, and user-focused content.

I’m curious what others think:
Are you seeing the same trends?
Do you feel like SEO is becoming harder, or just different?
And do you believe SEO still has long-term value in this new environment?

Would love to hear your perspectives.
I think it's just getting harder to game the system. Before, you could rank with some basic tricks, but now if the content isn't actually useful, Google just ignores it. It's more about quality than quantity these days.

Based on some responses, it seems that branding is becoming more important. AI systems need to be fed with content, so high-quality writing is more likely to be picked up and utilized by them.
However, what concerns me is this: if more people rely on AI tools instead of traditional search, fewer users may go directly to Google. If that happens, wouldn’t the value of traditional SEO for Google search decline over time? Is backlink still very useful?

The SEO is not "dying" right now, but it will end soon. Since the AI of Google is doing the research and priorizes the AI answes, the SEO will be more hard and you probably will need to remake your marketing and use other methods. It will be more harder to be in search engines.

Not really—SEO isn’t dying, it’s just changing a lot. What used to work before isn’t enough anymore, so it feels like things are dropping or not working. Search engines are getting smarter, focusing more on real value, user intent, and overall experience instead of just keywords and backlinks. I’ve noticed the same shifts myself, and honestly, the sites that adapt are still doing well. So it’s not dead at all—it just requires a smarter, more user-focused approach now.

I get why people say that it feels like SEO is getting harder with all the AI changes and constant Google updates. But honestly, I don’t think it’s dying at all.
To me, it’s more like SEO is growing up. Earlier, it was easier to rank with tricks, but now it’s more about actually helping users. If your content genuinely answers questions and provides value, it still works.

Is it harder? Maybe a little, but I’d say it’s just more effort-driven now instead of hack-driven.
And long-term value? Still 100% there. Organic traffic is something you build over time, and once it starts working, it’s way more sustainable than relying only on ads.
In simple terms, SEO isn’t dying, it’s just forcing everyone to do better work.
