The path to the career without a college education is difficult. It does not guarantee success. Below I list 4 ways to achieve success in any fields without a college degree.

1. Be self
Feed your curiosity, read a lot about the topics that interest you, your sources may be blogs and books and magazines. To do this, lean technology, remember that search engines like Google, you can find all the information you need.

2. Learn skills on demand
It will not help you acquire knowledge, but put it into practice, and that this knowledge will help you realize your innate abilities. Most recruiters look for people with a specific profile that includes certain qualities, so the best way to learn and master these skills is practice.

3. Set up a contact list
Use social networking, search and contact people with similar tastes and positions some day you play, learn their secrets and follow his wisdom. Soak up the issues that concern them.

4. Know your options
The secret is to make a brief analysis of the tasks that will facilitate more as: serving customers, generate empathy with people with words, good taste, among others. These skills will guide you to choose the career path that pleases you.

What about you? what are your ways?

Great post OP! Honestly, college doesn't have the reputation as it used to. A degree in this generation is almost garbage due to the amount of memorization and studying techniques. I have an associates in business but I may use maybe 10% of what i learned in class. I have gained more knowledge through forums and articles and can self teach myself just about anything. The internet should should be the go to place for learning anything you can set your mind to.

Very true. Everything on this forum you can"t even learn in college. Unless you go into the healthcare or engineering field you need a degree. Everything else you can learn online!

I agree with the creative marketing Gueriilas comment 100% but on the other hand a college degree is mandatory if you want to be a Surgeon, Nurse, etc... etc...

It all boils down to what your career goals are.

Yes if you are an internet marketer then you dont need college but a degree is still a good thing to have none the less.

trades are better nowadays in my opnion plumber, electrician, pipefitter, etc... less schooling, more demand, and more money in most cases.

If you look at the number of millionaires in the UK, 75% have no formal qualifications. It would seem that if anything a degree is the best way to fail to succeed.

If you have a good job you will probably have no time to ever become rich. You will steadily climb the corporate ladder, never achieving a fraction of what you could have.

In the last decade or so there has been a huge increase in the number of 50+ people starting successful businesses usually having been made redundant and discovering that if you are over 50 your choices become very limited!

Any job you do get offered is at a fraction of the salary you were earning. The choice becomes work for yourself or suffer a huge drop in your living standards.

The road to success is simple. Be prepared to do whatever it takes and never give up.

Best tip I can give you? Throw every tv in your house in the bin and stop wasting time watching rubbish (and block youtube)

Well said...this is a great phrase that I've ever read. It's quite exact because when someone feels good with their work they will not find other ways to make them stronger and richer as they are having. It's rare for someone can change work when their work is stable.
