Annoying facebook feeds and ads, how to turn them off?

Honestly, is there even a way to turn off the annoying ads or newsfeed that I get? They drive me absolutely nuts, I've tried to find away to lose the ads and or news feed. Is there a way, or am I just stuck with them?

I have to agree, those annoying ads have gotten bad. Facebook once was a very clean design, and then now there are feeds off other feeds off other feeds. Just so technical and FB puts you in jail a lot more it seems for wiping your nose (jk)... I like FB, but some of those things have really gotten annoying.
