The new SEO strategy is the same as it has been for years.

1) Build a site that is as useful as you can make it (make each page you want ranked high - as useful as possible)
2) Use excellent on-page SEO (keywords in title, scattered on page, use images - keywords in alt tags, filenames, etc.)
3) Use internal links within your own website to point more links and more prominent links towards the pages you want to rank the highest
4) Use keyword rich links with link juice (from within your own site or from other websites) to juice up the pages you want to rank the highest
5) Don't do things that are very likely to get your site penalized by Google quality algorithms like Panda and Penguin.
