This might be a dumb question...

But, why do some members have Zbotting by their name?

Spam? Something else?

Tried looking it up on G last night, nothing comes up. Must be just for this forum?

I believe z-botting is a gaming term that refers to someone putting something on the Z (attack) key to hold it down when they are away from the keyboard.

I may be completely wrong but that is my understanding of the term.

Could be. Think something like that came up when I searched.

Though guessing it might be something different here on the forum.

Or quite a few of users are off playing Games:)

Hopefully a few of them will see this thread and let us know the dirt on it. :)

If you have z-botting by your name, please let us know what it's all about! Inquiring minds want to know.

Ron, I guess I am getting old! I have no clue what Zbotting or z-botting or what any-botting is. LOL

I do not recall seeing anything on the forum about it or anything on a profile or post. I had to actually do a Google search to see if I could find out anything and I found this:

Funny :)

I just realized I did NOT explain it right. It's when you hover your mouse pointer over the members, member button, it shows as a tool tip.

Here's one I just grabbed:

Sorry, I did not mention th mouse over.. duh :)

Oh sorry, this might be a my mistake because that's for disabled members who posted spams on the forum. In any cases, I disabled the account instead of giving a ban. Those members seem created by machines to post low quality replies or unrelated posts (like they didn't read questions before answer them) so I think they were zboting members. :D This happened 2 years ago when I set that.

I changed its Alt text to "Disabled member", Hope that makes senses!

Oh, ok. I know I am getting a little out of touch with things at my old age, so I just thought it might be some kind of new thing this old geezer doesn't know or relate to! ;)

Thanks for the image, know I will have to see if I come across it again in my travels.

Good eye to catch that Ron! :great:
