Creating a Facebook fan web page is having a big importance these days for getting good traffic to the website. It is the best way of making the website popular. Not only on Facebook, creating a page on other social media sites is also having great significance.

Today, doing SMO is much worthy than that of traditional SEO.

Cheers!

While I agree with you Harris, you didn't leave much room for discussion with your post...

So I will jump in anyway ;-)

Facebook Marketing Tip:
Post around lunch time and evenings.
While emails are checked first thing to upkeep work related issues, social media is considered play and regularly logged onto during lunch breaks and in the evenings when people can relax.

Another good tip is an oldie but goody:

Content is King.

This applies to FB like any other marketing avenue. give your best. Make them laugh or outraged. Leave plenty of room for discussion and never forsake the open ended question ;-)

You are right, SMO is much effective and greater reach now as compare to traditional SEO.
The reach is more targeted and can easily go viral.

The Following are the tips for facebook marketing:

Plan: What do you hope to achieve from a Facebook marketing strategy? Is it sales, brand building, answering or solving customer queries and problems, or getting to know which product or service is a hit?

Budget: Setting up a Facebook page is free but it is free for your competitors too. What will you do to set yourself apart to raise your chances of exposing your brand to the larger Facebook audience? You may want to spend some money on promoted posts/sponsored stories, depending on your Facebook Marketing goal.

Schedule: You must know when your fans are active on Facebook. There is no point in posting interesting information when your fans are busy at work or school.

Frequency: How often do you plan to connect with your customers? You must be consistent with the rate at which you interact with your Facebook fans. You do not want to come off as a pushy brand that crowds customers’ news feeds nor as an inactive or boring brand that has nothing much to share.

Facebook is a powerful tool for social media marketing. With its growing users in millions of numbers, it is considered one of the largest platforms for advertising the brand, talent, company and marketing products and services in an effective way. Most marketers are now days plunging in to Facebook to market their services to a large number of audience. Not every page or community over Facebook is popular. Companies who work on effective social media marketing strategies get to have huge fan followings and instant fame. To get your product, company or brand recognized at a larger global level, you must implement effective plans that might help you in achieving your goal.

Facebook Marketing has done a lot to promote the Facebook Fan Pages and the companies have really taken the ball. They have used it to connect to the over 500 million people currently using Facebook and with over 250 million logging on at least once a day. This means a huge opportunity for any company looking to reach a very large part of the population with expendable cash on hand.

Are there some specific niches that Facebook doesn't like to promote?
