Are Telegram groups still better than Discord communities for engagement?

In my experience, it depends on the audience, but Discord has been better for building an active, engaged community. Real-time conversations, channels for different topics, and community events keep members involved. Traditional forums are still excellent for searchable, long-form discussions, but Discord generally creates more day-to-day interaction and stronger engagement.

It depends on your goal: Telegram groups are better for fast, high-volume conversations, while Discord communities offer stronger long-term engagement through organized channels, roles, and community features.

I think that it totally depends of your target audience age, if it is <25 y.o. than it might be discord, and if it is >25 y.o. than telegram. But also you need to know geo of this audience for sure.
