My Reddit Community Is Booming

I started a subreddit a while ago and just recently my subreddit is getting insane amount of traffic. I am averaging 5k every month and have more than 10k members and it's still growing.
I have posted every now and then for a while and then people started to join and publish posts which made growth easier for me because now all I have to do is moderate spam and keep the community spam free.

If you are looking for a way to drive traffic to your website I recommend starting a community rather than posting in existing communities that you have no control of.

That is a great achievement. I also think that building your own community is better than joining an existing one because you have more control over the audience and content. Once people start creating their own posts, the community can grow with much less effort. However, the main challenge is keeping it active and protecting it from spam.

That's really solid growth - hitting 10k members is no joke. I've seen a lot of subreddits struggle to get past the initial few hundred.

Building your own community definitely beats posting in someone else's. You're right about the control aspect - it's frustrating when you pour effort into a post and it gets buried or removed by mods who don't care.

Your point about moderation is key too. Once you hit a certain size, the spam starts rolling in. I've seen communities get ruined because mods couldn't keep up with the junk posts.

What niche is your subreddit in? I've found that engagement drops fast if you don't keep pushing new content. Asking questions works well for me to keep conversations going. Also posting consistently helps, even if it's just short updates.

Keep riding the wave. Getting that initial momentum is the hardest part and you've already done that.

Reddit is a marketing goldmine for sure. Ever since partnering with Google they've been showing in the first results for any question you can think of.

I created 4 subreddit communities for the sole purpose of promoting my stuff, and if you do it right the rewards can be huge. Now I have 13000+ karma and can do what I like. It's the sweet spot for affiliate marketers, but does take time to build, so be patient and it WILL be worth it, I promise.

If anyone here has real experience with Reddit marketing, I’d really appreciate a simple step-by-step guide. Like how you warm up an account, how long you wait before posting, how much you comment first, how you choose subreddits, and when it’s safe to start mentioning your site or brand.

Also, what are the common mistakes that usually cause suspension?

I’m not looking for any bypass method. I just want to understand how people use Reddit for free marketing without getting accounts killed.

General rule of thumb is to play it safe and just do normal, non controversial comments until you earn 1000 karma. Then warm up your promo comment by posting in your own niche communities with normal, helpful comments and just work yours in at maybe 3-5%

Also, create your own sub in your niche, but don't spam content...just let it grow naturally along with new members commenting and have your links in the side. You can also configure the reddit bot to post a link with every new thread. That was a big one for me.

While it is a goldmine, it can also be a landmine if you don't do it the right way from the beginning as part of a long term marketing strategy. You can't hurry it along, but it's worth it if you have a long term business goal.
