Any one here is using classified ads to drive traffic?

Is it effective to increase traffic and generating sales for your site?

Depends how you use the classifieds. For ranking local businesses they can be quite efficient as a signal. A lot of the time my Craigslist ads wil hit the first page of Google for a few days to a couple weeks when I post it. Works great for local SEO. Classified sites are usually categorized and sectioned by location.

So yes in some ways it could drive traffic.

In other ways it could look very spammy and get you flagged.

I know someone that resells eBay and Amazon products on Craigslist. I know another person who searches Facebook in all of the "Garage Sale" groups and resells on eBay and vice versa. Looks for good deals on Craigslist and sells them in the FB groups.

I don't think you should paste your link and use that to drive sales or traffic, but come up with a method that is not spammy and utilize CL as a tool and not your entire structure.
