I'm paying $110 a month. The issue is I need a hosting with ddos protection option I run a gaming community and people are dicks
Current host just suspends the service when a ddos attack happens..

What are your hardware requirements? Dallas can be pretty pricey for Bandwidth & Power, meaning increased cost for Dedicated Servers and other features such as DDoS Protection. $110 a month for a server with no protection is still a good price, depending on the hardware I have seen entry level servers at $199+ out of Dallas. We looked into getting a cabinet or two down in Dallas for a planned CDN & Cloud Infrastructure we are still in the planning stage of and the prices were just way too high for what we needed unfortunately. I remember about 10 years ago when Dallas was the place to get server, back before Softlayer purchased ThePlanet.

DDoS Protection is not cheap but you can use ddos protected proxy IP. It means your server is hide behind proxy IP.
