Best ways to upload a large file to your hosting?

I am owning both shared and VPS hosting account. I have a folder more than 5GB data of files. I want to know what are the best ways to upload a large file to your hosting?

Please share your solutions.

I am not sure I usually load large files to my hosting account, but I always zip the files I upload, and use the cPanel File Manager.

Upload the zip.

Extract the zip.

Delete the zip.

Actually I use Amazon S3 to store all of my large files and link to them instead.

The simplest way to upload large data to your host is via FTP. You can use FileZilla or any other free FTP software. Using your browser might cut-off during the upload, I think FTP will be the easiest way.

Above mention Suggestion by Nytshade and velvet works perfect but i have other option which i often use and it's work perfectly for me.

Very Easy to install and configure with any VPS and it's come with private share and Remote file transfer too you can make and edit users with separate user access controls. etc.. it also have future to manage AWS S3 , Other FTP and many more file sharing option built in.

Since you are looking to upload such a large file, I agree with Nytshade, in that I would probably use Filezilla or some other FTP uploader. If it was some smaller file/s and you had cPanel, then their file manager would work.

Not that the cPanel way wouldn't work for that large (I have never tried that large), just getting cutoff/losing your web connection would be a pain if you were doing it this way.

If you have ssh access for your both accounts then you can easily use the compression method to move the large data from your one account to another account. Just compress the file/folder you want to move, download it in your destination server, uncompress it and remove the backup file.
