Backlinks to subdirectory?

If I post a backlink to my webpage without any anchor linking to my sub-domain blog post Will that rank its keywords? Lets say if you put a webpage link in your profile on forum you can't really add an anchor there.

I know that if you add anchor text at the same time, it will increase anchor keywords but what happens when you can't do that? plain link to my blogpost which is located on my page.
