That is the strongest item on the list, but it goes wrong when people copy whole pages. Take one thing at a time, spacing from this site, type hierarchy from that one, and you start to see why it works. Copy three pages wholesale and you end up with a site where every section runs on a different rhythm.

For a WordPress build the fastest single fix is locking a type scale and a spacing scale, in theme.json if it is a block theme. Once every block pulls from the same set of values instead of one off numbers someone typed in, a good chunk of what reads as amateur sorts itself out.

One of the quickest ways to improve UI/UX is to focus on simplicity first. I usually start by improving navigation, reducing unnecessary elements, optimizing mobile responsiveness, and making sure the most important content is easy to find. User testing with a few real visitors can also reveal issues you might miss.

Depends which part is actually broken. If you mean visual polish, the quick wins are consistent spacing and fewer font sizes than you think you need. If you mean real UX, sit next to one person while they use the site and do not help them. Ten minutes of that beats a month of reading design articles.

On WordPress specifically, a lot of what gets called bad UX is really speed. A layout can be perfectly designed and still feel awful if the hero image lands late and the whole page shifts under your thumb. Worth ruling that out before redesigning anything.
