This was the first time I have had this happen, I am pretty sure it must be a permissions/owner issue? I had something similar happen when I moved mt Joomla install to a new hosting company, does anyone have any experience with this?

These are hundreds of rar files, so disk or memory corruption seems unlikely...

I suspect its more to do with transferring the files over a network and errors occurring with it being incomplete or void binaries when you moved web hosts. I don't believe a computer name has anything to do with this or permission/owner issue which you can set yourself. There are quite a few rar repair tools - I wont mention any here as I dont want to promote any particular one... Just search online ;-)
