Mariadb vs Percona

I'm using Mysql in websites today but are planning to switch to either MariaDB or Percona server when I move to new VPS. The main reason for the switch is to distance us from Oracle, but also to get better performance and good features. It looks like Percona server and MariaDB is pretty similar, and they also promote each other's solutions. What would you say is the main difference between them? which one is better?

I am using MariaDB 10.1 for my websites and feeling quite good with better performance than Mysql. I never heard of Percona before but I will check to see if it can be better than Mariadb or not.

If you are not familiar with configuring your hosting server then you should keep your Mysql server for your website because of changing to a new database management can make conflicts with your websites or other elements on your web hosting.
