More important for what? The question doesn't really make any sense. Why would you be choosing between the two?

Anyhow, web design is pretty freaking useless without traffic. You can build the best looking site in the world, but if nobody knows it exists, that won't do you much good. Traffic generation, whether it is through SEO, paid ads, offline marketing, email marketing, or social media is the most important thing.

When you have good SEO, it is time you should focus on your web design to improve user experience which will help increase sales for your site.

Well ofcourse I choose both. An average good looking themed site with good SEO can get maximum exposure.

I mean what is important for an affiliate website. Both of them are the same important right? If you have a good-looking website but customer cannot find you, it's meaningless, and in contrast, if you can SEO your website to top on Google, but your design is very bad it can also not attract any traffic

Traffic is the most important thing, whether you get visitors through SEO, social media marketing, or by paid means. Without traffic nothing else happens.

And honestly, some of my most successful affiliate sites are also the most boring, ugly sites you have seen.

Web Design is the first and FOREMOST factor in building your online business.

Why?

It helps in bringing in visitors.

It helps in bringing in SE robots.

So, it is the first entry point IMO.

Once you have got it, you can start thinking of anything else. It's like your attire needs to be worth it at first, then you can start speaking...:rasta:

I have seen many high ranking sites that are poor from designing perspective but yes they are the leaders on search engines because they worked only on SEO.

So, if you want more traffic over your site then work on SEO but if you want users to sustain then give equal importance to designing.

well if i were you i would choose both of them for sure, but for me SEO is more important cuz it brings you more traffic, optimize your site or is also a part of SEO. Building nice looking site is great tho but it doesn't contribute too much to the site and you don't have to be a professional web designer to have a high traffic website.

Both design & seo go hand in hand. Nowadays only user experience is the preferred thing. It's not that the site should be perfect for bots and you will get results, but it has to be interactive as well.
