What is "Google Suggest" or "Autocomplete"?

Can you guys tell me what is "Google Suggest" or "Autocomplete"? what is the difference between them? Any examples?

Autocomplete is when you are typing in the google search form and a dropdown appears with search suggestions.

Google suggest I believe is the search suggestions that appear usually at the bottom of a search results page.

They are the same thing.

It's mindblowing to me that people ask dumb questions like this on an SEO related subforum. A simple Google search would give them the answer. It's like people want to learn SEO but spend zero time actually using search engines themselves. Ironic.
