If you’re questioning yourself about whether or not your company needs a winning social media strategy, pause and just imagine where your company could be in a year. Or two years. Or even three. You’d be surprised at the growth you can experience with a winning social media strategy.

What is your opinion?

I don't think that anyone can argue the importance of a winning social media strategy.

However, I am curious if anyone has ever been able to generate an accurate sales report, detailing revenue generated specifically by social media? Especially one broken out by the different social media channels (i.e. Facebook, Insta, etc...)? If so, please share how you set up the report.

There is another variable in this equation - closing the loop between on and off website marketing, as well as between different social media channels. In my experience, a social media strategy is only effective when it's executed in tandem with all other channels, as well as across all of the social media channels.

As an example, if you are making a certain post on Facebook, what are you doing on Insta, Twitter, Tumblr, Snap, etc...? And additionally, how are you tying these posts with the messaging on the website itself? And finally, how are you connecting these two sets of efforts with any other off site marketing/advertising you are involved with (such as Google Adwords, Pinterest ads, etc...).

I think that a winning social media strategy would consider all of these variables. Curious what others think.

All the elements are required to run a business. If you were to not own the intellectual property eg the name of the largest platform and run your business entirely from social media you could find it gone with your work like myspace. Any business should expect growth with marketing and reliable business practice. Social media success relies on business success you could also be surprised with lack of meta tags, social media, ungeneric branding can become popular simply with loads of content. I would agree social media is strongest tool but wanted to show how social media free hosts etc have failed the users or silenced a president.
