Do I need a lawyer?

So, I’ve been reading about business contracts lately (don’t even ask, my sister wants to start her own business), and realized how much I have no idea about legal stuff (I might need to learn soon, she needs all the help she can get!). My question is for those who started a small business recently – were you able to deal with the legal side by yourself or did you hire a lawyer?

Depends on how small your business is. If it's just you then I wouldn't worry about it, unless you do design work where there could be issues with anything copied or licensed content.
