Hey Nick,

Well GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) Images are mainly used for animation. Similar to Flash Animation.

JPG & PNG are pretty much the same. However I prefer to use .png images as they are typically smaller (Less Kb) then .jpg images.

Really, everyone has their own preference about which image format to use.

Cheers!

Sites can all be placed in a small icon PNG chart, use styles to read this graph, thus reducing the number of visits, other commonly used GIF format images.

I think PNG-8 is very good for web graphics because of its clarity and its size is also less which helps to minimize the loading time of websites.

GIF is the fastest format to open,
Png has the best quality,
But most peole choose JPG to split the difference

Agree with you.. But It is depend if you write or not text in the image, if you write text, better use .gif

A jpeg will always be saved with a background color, the default being white, while a png can be saved with a transparent background - ideal for logos/icons/buttons... in fact anything that has a non rectangular outline or rounded corners. if you have a site with an image or gradient as your background then a png would be perfect as you wouldn't see the border around the image.

File sizes aren't really that different overall so just use what you need to use where you need to use it.

Good luck

go jpg, it downloads faster for most users and is smaller file size with best compression guidelines. PNG is for maintaining transparency

Hi every one,
Personally in my projects, I use jpg format for large images and Gif format for animations and very small images like backgrounds, finally PNG format for icons and images without background.
