How do you monitor Google Shopping performance daily?

For those running ecommerce stores, I'm curious about your workflow.

Do you usually monitor Shopping performance using:
  • Google Merchant Center alerts
  • Google Analytics
  • manual product searches
  • third-party monitoring tools?
Sometimes feed issues happen without obvious warnings, so I'm wondering how people detect problems early.

You can follow the following step :
1. Check Google Ads Dashboard
2. Review Product-Level Performance
3. Monitor Feed Health in Merchant Center
4. Track Search Terms (Intent Check)
5. Monitor Bidding & Budget
6. Use Custom Labels for Segmentation
7. Automate Daily Reporting

I usually just do a quick daily check inside Google Ads and Google Merchant Center, nothing too deep.
First thing I look at is the basics: impressions, clicks, conversions. If one of those suddenly drops or spikes, that’s when I dig deeper. Like if I see impressions but no clicks, I’ll check titles/images/pricing. If clicks are there but no conversions, it’s usually a landing page or tracking issue
I also keep an eye on product status in Merchant Center (disapproved or limited items can kill performance quietly). And sometimes I check product-level data, not just campaign level, because averages can hide bad SKUs.
Honestly though, daily is more like a “health check” to catch problems early. Real optimization for me happens weekly once enough data builds up.

I don't sit in Merchant Center all day. Once or twice a week I click through a handful of live product pages and check title, price, and whether the landing page still loads. Dashboards miss a lot of that.

Dashboards miss a lot of that.
The failure that hides best is a scheduled fetch that quietly stops working. Merchant Center keeps serving the last feed it pulled successfully, so nothing vanishes and no alert fires, and you only notice days later when items start expiring and performance slides for no visible reason. Checking the fetch timestamp takes seconds and catches it early.

The other one your click through does catch is price and availability drifting out of sync with the feed. Google rechecks the landing page on its own schedule, so a price change can sit there looking fine and then disapprove a batch of items all at once. If the product page carries structured data that is what gets compared, and a theme update can break it without anything visible on the page changing.
