MSN search and Bing are same or different?

I am confused with MSN search and Bing.Some people will tell that both are same.Some people will tell they are different. If anybody knows exactly about that give me correct answer.

According to my knowledge both are same owned by the microsoft

MSN was taken over by Microsoft long back. The search engines are different, but the owner is Microsoft.

They are same because when you type a keyword and searching it on msn.com then it will redirect to Bing search engine and showing results there.
