SEO Rankings Suddenly Dropped: All Keywords Disappeared from Google Search Results (May 2026 )

Hello guys, I’m facing an SEO problem. Around 50–60 of my keywords were ranking on the 1st or 2nd page one day ago, but the next day I checked and none of the keywords were showing even in the top 100 results. I checked my robots.txt and sitemap, and everything looks good. All pages are still indexed on Google, but the rankings have dropped to zero and the keywords are not appearing in search results anymore. Please share your SEO advice and how I can solve this problem. Thank you.

A sudden drop of 50–60 keywords usually means a Google update, technical issue, manual penalty, noindex/canonical error, or server problem.

Check Google Search Console for Manual Actions, Indexing issues, and Coverage errors first. If pages are still indexed, compare the drop date with recent Google updates and review any recent site changes.

If your keywords were ranking on page 1 or 2 and suddenly dropped out of the top 100 while pages are still indexed, it is often due to a Google algorithm update. When Google updates its algorithm, it re-evaluates websites and changes rankings based on content quality, relevance, and competition. Because of this, rankings can drop suddenly even if your pages are still indexed.
This usually does not mean your site is penalized. It simply means Google is adjusting search results.

All pages are still indexed on Google, but the rankings have dropped to zero and the keywords are not appearing in search results anymore.

Everything still indexed but nothing left in the top 100 overnight does not read like a core update. Core updates move things unevenly and over days, some pages down, a few up. Losing every keyword on the same night points at something site wide flipping instead.

Two checks before assuming it was an algorithm change. Open URL Inspection in Search Console and run Test live URL, not just the last crawl result sitting there. Indexed status can stay green for weeks after Google has lost the ability to fetch you properly. Then pull your raw server logs, filter for Googlebot, and look at the response codes it got around that date. If a WAF rule or bot protection started answering Googlebot with 403 or a challenge page, old index entries linger while rankings drain away.

Worth checking whether anything was injected into your pages too. Hacked cloaking produces exactly this shape, pages indexed, rankings gone, because Google is served different content than you see. Did anything change server side near that date, even a security plugin or a CDN setting someone toggled?
