The best practice that I would considered when it comes to social media is to provide interesting and engaging content to your targeted audience as well as building relationship with them.

I think social media is the best and interesting way to get more traffic and popularity to your website. Once you share your content and images relevant to your website, then it will raise the traffic fastly then other website you use to gain traffic.

Create Website/Business/Company Profile, Page, Group, Community, Events etc. on social platforms.
And keep updating them with news, services, pics, videos, events and more interesting stuff that can attract your followers.

When you answer to any post. Explain everything in detail. Visitors will just ignore the replies without complete information. Hope you understand. Thanks.

Answers didn't make sense or low quality content, will make your account disabled/banned from WMS faster.
That's reason why more spammers and their posts have not removed easily in seconds. :emerg:

I've posted so many thing in here I'm not sure if I answered a question like this already or not but honestly you need to make your network go viral first.

Everyone wants to stick to their guns and go after what they love. Well didn't work for me so I went after what worked. So for example, I will start a profile on Facebook, We Heart It, Tumblr, Reddit, Pinterest, and Twitter.

Then I will share viral content amongst my networks and from my websites. For instance their is a funny clown video with some guy dressed up as an evil clown holding a mallet and smashes a fake guys head when people walk around the corner. It's super funny, so I shared it to tumblr, then to Facebook, then to We Heart It. On we heart it that video got like 7,000 shares at the time. Who know what it has now. I probably dont even have the log in details anymore lol. Either way, sharing stuff like that builds my networks up, and then I start slowly converting my pages.

Obviously this wouldnt work for a business niche but for most modern niches it will work. You can find funny videos around any niche. Worked wonders for me.

Well, social media is not enough. Before you promote your site on social media you must remember the first rule which is great content. Yes, you may have 100 social media sites -- but still you need your content to be great -- readable, understandable, and eye catchy. Then all will follow. This is also what I do to my website.
