Post 2 Host Forums?

I have seen many post 2 host forum which give free web hosting to users, just for posting. They get sponsored by hosting companies who give them free services to give it to users. I just wondered what do the hosting companies get by sponsoring those forums. Anyone know what do the hosting companies get? :2guns:

Usually the goal of those forums is to build an email marketing list, for SPAM.

Not all of these forums have goal to do email marketing. I have myself tried many post 2 host forums and found that they work. Before then, I also believed that these sites are spam. So, anybody what do hosting comp. get by sponsoring these Post 2 Host forums?

It is type of marketing where clients would recommend the company to other people, other people would buy directly instead of posting.

Upgrade the plan from free to paid, if the client is happy about the service and he need more resources, he would upgrade to paid plans.
