It's difficult to get backlinks from edu and gov websites/forums, Mods used to remove links or ban account if you put links on those edu or gov websites
Can you share some tips for me to get backlinks from Edu & Gov sites

site:.edu "leave a comment" "niche"
site:.gov "leave a comment" "niche"

You can comment in particular blogs to get those links.

@fantaseo: To get backlinks from .edu or .gov sites is really tough job, unless and until your site satisfy all or any of the following points(but not only these):

• Your site belong to a niche to which the targeted .edu or .gov site belongs.
  
• A part of your site have relevant content which may belong to the targeted .edu or .gov site's niche.
  
• You have strong and friendly relation with the webmaster or the admin of the .edu or .gov site.

Make your site useful and valuable for the visitors and owners of the .gov and .edu site, then you can get easy and valuable backlinks. It is very hard to get these genuine backlinks that is why google give so much value to these backlinks.
